The decision to pursue dual qualification in the United States requires serious consideration, research, and planning. The more information and insight you can gather in advance, the more confident you will feel in taking the next steps toward becoming a qualified U.S. attorney.
There is a long list of reasons why you should start your journey toward U.S. qualification. This is where BARBRI Extended U.S. Bar Prep comes in. Many before you have trusted BARBRI to pass the New York and California Bar Exams, and now it’s your turn.
Below, we address the top five frequently asked questions foreign candidates have about our Extended U.S. Bar Prep course. We’re here to help you jump-start your global legal journey by making informed decisions about your bar exam preparation.
1) When does the BARBRI Extended U.S. Bar Prep course start? How long is it? How much time should I plan to study?
Your full Extended U.S. Bar Prep Personal Study Plan (PSP) will be available on the course start date. This date varies depending on the course duration you select and whether you are preparing for the February or July bar exam. The course can last either 6 or 10 months.
You have the flexibility to choose the specific days and times that work best for your schedule, ensuring the utmost personalization to meet your unique learning needs and lifestyle.
Upon enrolling and paying all course fees, you will gain access to the Foundations in U.S. Law pre-course, which provides essential building blocks in U.S. law. This is particularly beneficial for students who have not completed their legal education in the U.S.
2) Is the course schedule flexible?
The Extended U.S. Bar Prep course is designed to be extremely flexible, allowing you to learn when and where you study best over the 6- or 10-month duration.
Your PSP is driven by our AI-powered adaptive learning platform. The intuitive technology knows which topics are most likely to be tested on the bar exam and adjusts your PSP based on your progress. If you spend less time studying one day, your assignments will be recalibrated to ensure you are always focused on the most impactful assignments to get you the most points on your bar exam.
3) Can I do my course entirely online?
Yes, you can complete 100% of your Extended U.S. Bar Prep course online from anywhere in the world, provided you have a strong, stable internet connection.
In addition to the main course content, you may attend extra online study skills workshops and the BARBRI MBE Immersion workshop. You’ll also have access to all of BARBRI’s interactive, exam-driven lectures and materials, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience.

Absolutely. You will receive the same efficient and effective lectures and content delivered by renowned U.S. law professors without compromising your ability to complete your course assignments. Extra workshops are a great way to enhance your learning and retention of the materials.
5) What happens if I do not pass the bar exam?
We understand that sometimes you need a second chance. If you take a BARBRI Extended U.S. Bar Prep course for the first time for a particular state and do not pass that state’s bar exam, you can retake the same course online once for the same state the next time it is offered without additional tuition. This is our Extended U.S. Bar Prep Guarantee.
To enroll in the Guarantee course, simply fill out a Guarantee enrollment form. This course must start within 12 months of receiving your results and does not include any upgrades, such as supplemental workshops or a second set of books. If you wish to purchase a new set of books for your Guarantee course, you may do so.
