BARBRI SQE Insights
As a law tech global leader, we have over five decades of experience advocating and future-proofing digital-savvy talent into the profession.
BARBRI is launching a programme of events for BARBRI students called SQE Industry Insights. These sessions are for those interested in learning more about the latest legal industry trends. The sessions will be led by industry experts who will explore the impact and implication of current legal professional developments through a series of industry led events beginning in September 2022.
Legal Technology in Practice
Our first session with Catherine Bamford was a huge success. The attendees learned all about the legal technology lawyers are using today at each stage of a legal transaction. Catherine gave real examples from many different areas of law being practiced in law firms large and small. The course will help you to explain what legal technology is and be able to better answer innovation questions in applications and interviews too!
To learn more about legal tech and the work Catherine does visit BAM Legal.
The Legal Team of the Future: Law + Skills
During his career, Adam Curphey has been a practising lawyer and a legal innovation lecturer, and he is currently Senior Manager of Innovation at Mayer Brown, where he partners with lawyers, business services professionals, and clients to devise new methods to solve problems and deliver legal services. Adam is a member of the O Shaped Lawyer Steering Board, has designed and delivered courses on legal innovation and skills, and is the author of “The Legal Team of the Future: Law+ Skills”.
Adam's session will guide our students through understanding and building the holistic skills required in legal services now and in the future.
BRYTER Hackathon
We know that technology is a core part of your life and will continue to play an increasingly important role in both your education and your working life. That's why we are collaborating with BRYTER to hold a Hackathon exclusively for BARBRI students. The purpose of this Hackathon is to encourage students to explore how technology can be a tool for learning, and how it can be used in their professional careers going forward.
The Hackathon will be a full-day event held in London in November. BARBRI students will be asked to submit an application by creating a short video explaining why they want to participate.
