What is the Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE)?
BARBRI has been preparing law students and qualified lawyers for their legal qualification exams for over 50 years. Most recently, we have gained success in dual qualifying lawyers into England and Wales through the Qualified Lawyers Transfer Scheme (QLTS).
This assessment has been replaced with the Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE) in 2021 and BARBRI has used this successful model, with further improvements, to develop its new BARBRI SQE Prep. This prepares you to sit both exams with confidence, regardless of your legal academic background.
Why dual qualify into England & Wales?
For qualified lawyers outside England & Wales, London remains a major centre of activity and the prospect of practising in the UK is an attractive one. This is an opportunity to widen your legal career beyond your jurisdiction, whether you wish to practice locally or abroad.
As a qualified lawyer in India, you don't have to demonstrate Qualifying Work Experience (QWE) or do the second stage of the assessment (SQE2). This means that all that is required for you to do is to apply for the exemption and sit the first stage, SQE1. BARBRI is here to help you achieve just that.
